Seizures are one of the most frequently encountered neurological conditions in first opinion practice and certainly the most distressing for the owner. While most dogs and cats present with ‘typical’ generalised seizures, others may present with a range of unusual seizure activity. Recognition of such ‘atypical’ presentations and differentiation with non-epileptic seizure events is a pre-requisite in your diagnostic approach.
This course will provide you with the essential practical aspects of the neurological examination of epileptic patients, step-by-step diagnostic tests to consider and rationale behind the use of anti-epileptic treatment.
